Cycling routes along the Costa Brava

Tamariu is the ideal starting point to explore some of Girona's best cycling routes. Looking for calm or a challenge? Below, we recommend routes for all levels:

  • Tamariu - Begur route: This moderately difficult 25 km route takes you from the coast of Tamariu to the picturesque village of Begur. The route crosses roads with sea views and small uphill sections that offer challenges for cyclists. When you reach Begur, we recommend visiting its old town with an authentic medieval castle.
  • Tamariu - Pals route: This 30 km route combines the best of road cycling and immersion in the medieval history of the region. From Tamariu, you drive along quiet roads surrounded by vineyards until you reach Pals, a village that oozes its rich medieval past. The route is perfect for those looking for a cultural experience.
  • Tamariu - Sant Feliu de Guíxols route: Slightly longer, this more challenging 45 km route is ideal for experienced cyclists looking for a greater challenge. The route has several ascents and descents, passing through places such as Aiguablava and Llafranc.
  • Tamariu - Palamós route: A quieter version than the previous one, which will take you to the lively port of Palamós. Take the opportunity to stop and taste the famous Palamós prawns and suquet de peix
  • Tamariu - Calella de Palafrugell - Llafranc route: This 20 km route follows the coast and connects three of the most charming towns on the Costa Brava: Tamariu, Calella de Palafrugell and Llafranc. It is ideal for a day of gentle cycling with stops at coves and charming villages.
